Top Hunter/Jumper Training in Massachusetts

I’m new to the Boston area and am looking for suggestions for top Hunter/Jumper barns and trainers in the area. I currently ride at a very large full-service equestrian center/show barn in NJ with several top “specialty trainers” to work with. These trainers have a very successful record and have trained with some great American and Europen riders/trainers. I’ve been leasing an eq/hunter and training at 3’. But I’m really looking to move up and get into the jumpers. I don’t know any trainers here :frowning: and would love some help finding someone amazing that also would be able to help me find a great lease to bring in for the next year. I’m not showing right now, but that’s something I want to :)focus on with my next horse. Looking forward to the tips ;).

Where are you living/working (or going to school)? Makes a huge difference in which options are going to be feasible for you.

I’ll be living/working right outside of south shore Boston. I’m not opposed to traveling within an hour of the South Boston area if the training/facility is worth it!

Some places to consider, depending on where you’re located: Grazing Fields, Woodridge, Kristen Bumpus (Winter Street), Kingsway, River Wind

Adding to the list Mor-Linn in Walpole.

Shane Powell @ Evermoor

For what you describe on the South Shore, second River Wind, Kingsway. I wouldn’t hassle with driving on and off Cape unless it was part of my commute already. Grazing Fields is great, but the idea of fighting my way down there and back, especially if forced to do so during commuting hours, would suck much of the joy out of barn time for me. (I grew up on the South Shore, in Duxbury.)

Thanks everyone!!! If you know any others, definitely let me know ??

PM sent

Since you’re training at a top level barn in NJ can your trainer(s) from there recommend someone in the MA area for you. It wouldn’t surprise me if they knew of someone who would be a good match for you.

Yes I can! I’m going to see what they suggest too
