Hi! I have done many many many open local shows over the yrs…I am sure the facility has commercial liability ins covered in the agreement on their side but make sure you inform YOUR COMM LIABILITY INS CO so you are covered from your end also…I love doing these shows but they are hard work. Here is one negative comment…All those folks saying to you “yes…do this…I’ll help out” they will disappear starting about 7 days out from the show…sad but true. Now some good things…(1) keep it simple (2) get a church youth group to do the concessions so you can focus on the show…let them have the $…also enlist some of the youth to help operate gates and run notes/results between judge and announcer…(3) YOU CANNOT PLEASE EVERYONE with your class list, etc…Oh and have some written/printed rules…I use USEF rule book…covers alot of breeds…
