Amelie is resting quietly here at my barn. Hopeful that she can be shipped back to Christine in Ocala soon, but the vets felt it was not in her best interest to subject her to an eight hour haul this past weekend.
Dana, I am so, so glad she is with you. I had to be very discreet and circumspect when private messaging Christine’s grandmother, who was the first one to let us all know that Amelie was hurt. And then again, when I messaged Christine. I know they have always been grateful to Pat for Amelie, who has been a wonderful, wonderful mare. On the other hand, I also know of Pat from several other sources, and let’s just say that I did not think it was the best choice for a layup for Amelie. I appreciated your candor as well, which made me feel like my feeling was correct.
We all love Amelie and we are so sorry that she has been injured so severely. Poor Christine. Her Mom, Connie, told me that Christine is devastated and of course, like all good owners (and Moms!) is upset with herself for the accident.
Thank you again for your help. You are so good.
