knightrider, I’m sorry to hear that you are dealing with an extended power outage. It is, at the least, a nuisance!
As for as the contents of your fridge and freezer, check your homeowners or renters insurance. A while back, I was in a temporary rental. I had renters insurance, but didn’t give it a thought when I threw out the contents of my R/F during a 7 day snowstorm power outage. I was quite surprised when my insurer called me, as they were calling all customers in the outage area, to ask if I had experienced any loss or damage. They specifically asked if I had lost perishables. They covered it, with no deductible, up to a max of, I think, $500.
Even more than the coverage, I was impressed by the fact that they were reaching out to their customers!
