Dear K -
Just as something to keep in mind, if you were thinking of contacting Lelo, she has a very checkered past. I have heard (unconfirmed) that she is horrible to work with, totally cheap, doesn’t give enough water, and basically ran out on her last lease, taking the stall mats and the footing with her, leavening the owner with a barn with no stall mats, no footing in the indoor, and six months worth of unpaid rent. I have also heard that she’s terrific. I have never met her, and I have no idea what to believe; just letting you know the gossip.
Good luck finding a place!! Eastern Massachusetts can be a tough place to have a horse, and then if the horse has any special needs… But, something will turn up. Hang in there. I did really like Dunroven Farm when I boarded there short-term, though it was a good 10 years ago, at this point. They had a large central drylot where all the IR horses hung out. Everyone was relaxed and content. Little Brook doesn’t have an indoor, but otherwise seems like a pretty good place. Not fancy, but, again, the horses don’t care (and it’s not a dump). Just chilly in winter; some horses absolutely bloom with this lifestyle, but my new fella has demonstrated that he needs more shelter than a run-in, for the really cold stretches. He has an in/out stall to a drylot, and likes to hide in his stall when the weather is awful.
