Hello, my horse does something we have named the death spiral. When he does this, it’s a very tight circle around you as he’s spinning as fast as he can, and at the same time throwing his shoulder into you. He does this for oral paste, if he gets real scared of something. And the most dangerous one, when we are loading in the trailer. You get on, then it just starts. It comes out of no where. Sometimes he’s fine and let you load or give paste and things that should spook him doesn’t. It’s unpredictable which is also the scary part. We know triggers, and so are prepared if he does it. When your in the death spiral, it’s extremely hard to get out of it cause you can’t move. He majority of the time has a chain. How can we stop this. He lunges fine, and has decent groundwork. It’s not something we can practice since first of all where you in it, your life flashes before your eyes and second it’s random. Please help. Anyone else have this issue??? He’s 8 and mentally he is probably 6.5yrs.
