Fungus, rain rot, scratches… all the things we hate! :mad: There has been an outbreak of fungus at a stable I work at, I’ve been very careful not to bring it home to my own horses. I’ve been washing my hands, making sure everyone has their own halters and grooming supplies, etc. Now I just bought a horse from Oklahoma and she arrived with some sort of fungus. :uhoh: I gave her a iodine bath and bought her her own halter and grooming supplies, I am also using an antifungal ointment on her.
MY QUESTION IS: what is the best way to sanitize grooming supplies and halters!?!? I would rather not use bleach because it discolors everything. So here are my other options: iodine, dish soap, laundry detergent, or vinegar?
