Hi! I’ve been reading your post about the drugs at shows and had to chime in - I grew up in Mid-Mo and like others have mentioned, I highly encourage you to reach out to the pony club in your area. I believe Stacy Bates still runs the program, and she is FABULOUS. That’s the type of horsemanship your daughter should be learning about! Best of luck!
Thank you so much for this!!! Do you know which pony club that is by any chance? I sent an email to the one that I think is closest (I live in Columbia MO). It is the Hinkson Valley pony club. They referred me to call a riding place called Mid Mo riding center with Crystal Kendrick. Said that for pony club they like for the kids who join to already walk trot independently and have some tacking up skills, but that the instructor at mid mo riding CTR is the one who teaches pony club, and that being part of her lesson program can lead to that. You can use their horses too.
I’m not seeing Stacy Bates-- do you know what town? Do you know much about Columbia barns?? Lessons are very expensive for me, so if I continue paying, I want to do this right.
