Hi! Do you mind if I am nosy and ask which schools you were so happy with? I’m really overwhelmed by this move because I know nothing about the DC area and am trying to crash course it in a few months. I really don’t want to deal with renting to see where we like because I can’t deal with moving five people twice! We have looked at houses in Leesburg (the schools don’t seem outstanding there?), Waterford, Purcelville, Middleburg etc. Our kids are coming from fantastic schools in LA and I’m hoping to find something similar in Loudoun. I can see that the schools get great ratings in Potomac, MD, and the McLean area, but I’m wondering if thats just more of suburbia like where we are coming from (honestly, 3 acres or less seems tiny to me once I saw some of the other properties out there.) I also grew up in Vermont, so I am familiar with country living:) Thanks for the barn rec as well!
I am so sorry, I never got a notification so I had no idea this message was here! My daughter attended Mountain View Elementary and Blue Ridge Middle School in Purcellville. We looked in Leesburg and were not impressed at all with the homes/land and the schools. The amount orf congestion in this area is crazy and the sprawl just keeps sreading out further and further.
