I have a bad leg and confidence issues from the accident that caused my injury. These are trainers I have personally worked with and have been patient with my fears and helped me. I, personally, am not ever afraid to tell a trainer that they’ve crossed a line (either confidence wise or physically) and have only had one trainer (Columbus area) who pushed me beyond my physical limits. All others (including those listed below) have been very understanding of my limitations and helped to work within them.

I recently found Jessica Spracklin and have taken a couple lessons with her. Unfortunately, she’s leaving this weekend to go to Florida for the winter to finish up her gold medal. She will return at the end of March.

Janice Holmes in Hamilton area is fantastic (Holmestead Stables). She is an eventer, so has both the jumping and dressage experience.

Amber Adcock (she works out of a couple different barns)

I don’t take lessons in Cincy (I live in Dayton), so most of these listed are north of the city or between Cincy and Dayton (or like Jessica will travel to me).

Thank you so much for your help! This is great information. I have heard of Janice Holmes but the other two are new names. I will definitely check them out. We don’t have a horse–do you think that would be an issue for any of these trainers?
