Heinz. I an near devonwood and Hunter creek I them there hills. My ring is 65 x170 with an Apple tree at far end (best aplea ever). In 1985 I had local excavator level my arena. Works great for me. Over the years I have 1) put in curtain drain in top side of ring. 2). Added 6 perforated drain pipes that drain what comes off hill. 3) base is “reject” rock. Like 1/2 with mud, then 3/8 gravel. And a few loads of sand every year. Three tears ago I added three bags of chipped rubber. GREA5. And I an getting two more bags June 5.
