How do people just assume you will let them ride your horse, or even board a horse for them? I just moved onto my land one week ago. It has been a childhood dream come true having acreage, and my two horses with me. Until now, they have always been boarded. I am just surprised and a little disturbed about folks asking to ride my horses or assuming I will board a horse for them??? Neighbors next-door are nice people, but very forward about asking for things evidently. They have hinted all along while I was building, that their teenage daughter “would love to ride my horses”. Mind you, she’s never ridden a horse in her life. Sweet girl, and I like her. But, I don’t want her riding my horses. Yesterday when I ran into them, they even said they had been thinking of getting a horse and possibly keeping it on my property? How they just assumed that that would be acceptable is beyond me. Puts me in a very awkward situation, because I don’t want to be “the bad guy“. But I would never ask someone to ride their horse Or just assume I could keep a horse on their property. Wondering if anyone has been through this before?
