NEED ADVICE
hi there just looking for some advice or similar experiences.
here goes…
about 10 weeks ago my 17h ISH looked slight off in our lesson. Instructor and myself put it down to being shawd the day before and maybe just slightly foot sore.
anywy this went on and off for about two weeks, he jjst didn’t look quite right but then after a day or two of rest he was right as rain and fine to ride. Brought him back into some work and again he went off, only this time slightly worse. Vet has now diagnosed him with severe heel bruising. And he was lame in both front hooves. He has very low heels and only really grows from the toe. Farrier and vet agree and have a plan in place now. He was fitted with heart bars about 5 weeks ago and he was instantly more comfortable. 5 weeks later he now only looks sore on his LF rather than both. When farrier did feet u could actually see the bruises in that hoof and they were really deep. Vet has told me that it will take about 2/3 shoeings with heart bars before we can see heel starting to rise up and not be so low.
Vet said at this point in time he dosent feel the need to x -ray or anything as farrier and vet could quite clearly see what the problem is.
has anyone had any similar situations to this?
in loosing the will to live here !
Thank you ! X
