I use LeMieux saddle pads everyday. I like their shape and material. I have mostly the Pro Sport Suede collection, but some of other material too (cotton, mesh, etc). I recently bought a Weatherbeeta Prime pad which is similar shape wise and quite like it. I think it was cheaper than the LeMieux pads too. I’ve washed it a few times, and so far so good. I’ll probably buy a few more.
I mostly stick with saddle pads that have fasteners to the D rings since I have a Monoflap, but also prefer that anyway.
By any chance, is the Weatherbeeta pad a bit smaller than the Le Mieux? I love the shape and breathability of the LeMieux but the spine is just a bit too long for my short-backed witherless round pony. The drop length is fine, but the length of the spine could be an inch shorter to be perfect. I can’t find the pad locally and am relying on online measurements.
I actually brought my saddle into Dover today to try a few pads and the smaller LeMieux would have been perfect IF I didn’t use a Thinline pad. The regular size would probably reach his hips! The length halfway down the pad (at it’s widest point) would be perfect if it was 23".
Thanks!
