Dear Melsmom -
I am thinking of Charlottesville or Lexington as top candidates for a move, in a few years. I’ll be looking for a friendly, active horse community with good trainers/vets/farriers, though I don’t ride competitively. We’re coming from the urban Northeast, so whatever the cost of living and the amount of traffic is, it will be less. Would you have any advice/insights for someone considering moving to the Charlottesville area, vs. say Tryon or Southern Pines, for example? I’d be grateful for any thoughts you might have time to offer.
