Your post about how you have to engage the back of the horse when also asking them to lower their heads was so helpful! It makes so much sense for my guy who is great at dropping his head, but I realize now I haven’t been asking him to use his back end at the same time. He has a chronic suspensory injury in a hind leg, and I let him get away with too much. (He can certainly do very basic correct light work, despite his suspensory). I was indeed taught that a correct front end comes from behind, but since the fella loves to lower his head so readily, I haven’t been riding the way I was taught. Thanks again!
