Nothing about it makes it any different than a formal Hunter class versus a “Prix”, they just seem to call it a “Grand Prix” as the origin of the name “Grand Prix” signifies the biggest class or top prize. Grand Prix literally means, in French, “great prize.” You do very rarely see this term used for hunters, but, nothing precludes a show from calling their most elite hunter class a Grand Prix.
