I cannot find a think on any new feed about this, but the following quote from a friend of mine is information from a racetracker there, so there has got to be some basis. Has anyone heard anything?
“My sister just called from CharlesTown, WVa, a bad tornado just ripped thru the barn area… they won’t let them in to check on horses because of downed power lines.Barn roofs are laying against the fences. Prayers needed!!!”
I tried to add a link to the facebook page of Eastern Panhandle Working Fire’s page, but I couldn’t get it to work. Those interested can search for that page and scroll down a bit to see pictures of the damage, sorry. The important thing is that all of the horses are OK.
I got reports and the backside is a bit of a mess but they’re trying to run tonight. Only 7 horses were affected and they’re reportedly alright.

I drove by this morning on my way to the veterinarian’s office. I saw some roof debris and a small stretch of outside wall on one barn, but nothing like catastrophic damage.
I’ve seen photos and updates on my feed from several trainers - it looked bad but reportedly all the horses are OK, though they couldn’t get some out until they’d removed the roof of the barn.
