Tornadoes in November ugh

Another day. Another bunch of sirens. The state tree should be a trampoline embedded in a power pole. Peeps pumpkins and trashcans are everywhere.just not at their house. This is the second day of this. North Texas, I think you are in bullseye too…
In November!

It feels very stormy here too. Not supposed to hit until late tonight though. It’s warm, humid and very windy.

Is it green hued outside?

Dark heavy clouds and lots of loud thunder.
Had several inches of rain yesterday and lighting and deafening thunder.
I think that is what you are having after it left here.
This is just wrap around stuff for us right now.
Snow for Thursday.

We had tornadoes yesterday. OKC hit with EF3. Harrah is in smithereens. And of course MOORE OK, got hit again. I had a small one touch down half a block away. 90 mph winds. So much for that extra hour of sleep we were promised when this mess starts at 4 a.m. you know we have had a tornado and an earthquake on the same day. Gotta stay on your toes here.

I can’t believe you are getting snow, but then I can.

What area of country are you?

Why is Moore such a tornado magnet? They have had so many bad, bad tornados.

I wish I knew. It has a bullseye on it.

Scientifically, the state is almost dead center. Gulf moisture and Canadian inflow yikes. Those mean Canadians! Kidding y’all.

There have been a few documentaries on the Weather Channel about Moore. Maybe the storm chasers could explain.

I’m in far southwest Arkansas, right on the Texas border. In fact, the state line runs through the middle of town. It’s a small city called Texarkana. There is a Cother with the same name.

It has quite a bit to do with the Gulf moisture and the Canadian air. Tulsa is further northeast than OKC, therefore Moore, which is a suburb of OKC. Not as flat.

I know Texarkana
I do!

Yes, but all tornadoes are formed in that scenario. (I’m a tornado junkie.) What is it about Moore that causes not just tornado hits, but tornados high on the Fujita scale?

Isn’t she from Lewisville or Stamps? We are now under a tornado watch until midnight.

It’s very flat. Moore, el Reno,Edmond. They not only get Gulf, but from west Texas via Rockies too. Very different terrain from Tulsa. We get ice storms. They get but holy cow, tulsa man.

Yes. Stamps.

Originally bodcaw. You know that one and Camden, all those little towns. Lewisville has the best smoked turkeys you can order. What is the name of that place? Family owned like 4th generation now.

Scientists have yet to come up with reason, so we may never know. Moore may just be jinxed.
