Torsion Treeless saddle- many questions!

I picked up a Torsion treeless saddle off of ebay.

I went to try it on my mare and quickly found out not a single girth I have fits it. I tried 2 wintec dressage girths, and some smaller regular girths. The only girth I have that fits the billets is way too big on my mare.

So if you have ever used a Torsion saddle, what girth did you use on it?

Also I am wondering if a regular dressage girth is going to be too far back on my mare. Maybe I need one of those anatomical girths?

I also need to buy a saddle pad for it- any suggestions would be appreciated.

The saddle did not come with stirrups. Will regular english stirrups work okay? I thought the stirrup bar seems kind of large for english stirrups though.

This is turning out to be much more complicated than I anticipated. And without riding in it, I don’t even know if I will like the saddle. Those who have ridden in a Torsion, do you like it?

I think you mean that the billet straps are “wider” than typical english saddle billet straps? I think that Montana Cincha dressage girths have bigger buckles for wider billets. Action rider tack carries them.

There is a treeless facebook group and the treeless yahoo group, and I’m sure someone will answer your question at once of those.

My treeless saddles all use about a 22" dressage girth, even on my 16.1 Friesian Sport Horse. They have long billets.
