Hi!
My guy is a bell boot killer, nothing last more than a few days when he is turned out. Does anyone have any bell boot brands that stand up. Preferable ones I can buy in Canada. Are the pull on ones better than the velcro ones?
Thanks

For turnout I use plain, pull on rubber bell boots. Not sure if my guy is just easy on them but I’ve never had a problem and he wears them 24/7 all winter. The rest of the year he doesn’t get turned out in them, so I use velcro ones for riding. I’d just get something like this:

I feel like I’ve tried everything under the sun.
My top two:
Tough as NAILS - but only if you reinforce/replace the velcro with sturdier strips. These do hold water so not as ideal for wet climates.

My new everyday pair for Miss Destroyer, who also needs a “taller” boot than the $11 variety from Dover.

And bonus, RW is awesome to work with - free shipping over $50 and always a 20% off coupon floating around.
Good luck!
My guy isn’t particularly hard on them, but he does wear bell boots 24/7 with lots of turnout. I have found that the velcro ones always start tearing where the velcro attaches within a couple months or less. The plain pull-on rubber ribbed ones last up to a year, so I strongly prefer them. The only downside is that they are a pain to put on and take off, but I only do that rarely.
My guy has been wearing bell boots in front for 4 years, all day, every day. He went through boots within a week - just tore them off. Finally I discovered Professional’s Choice Ballistic Overreach boots, and those suckers are TOUGH. They last a long time. Here’s the site, and that’s a good price. If you look, you’ll see they range from $20-30. If I see them in the low 20’s I buy a pair.
I’ve heard good things about the ThinLine Gatorbootz, but don’t have a destroyer at the moment. Back when I did, I had some of those old petal bell boots around, and they were indestructible (and loud).
Gatorbootz. My guy rips bell boots off with his teeth. He cannot break these but he can remove them. Black so hard to find in pasture. And not big enough for a horse who wears a size 5 shoe sadly.
I use Davis double velcro vinyl bell boots - XL. If I put Bitter Apple on the tabs they stay on but we still go through lots of pairs because eventually he rips off the Velcro.
I used Davis boots on my mare and they held up really well. She didn’t destroy things with her mouth though - she’d just step on a bellboot while she was on course and would slice right through it (it always looked like a knife cut).
