Jägersro is both harness and gallop racing, Bro is only gallop.
I think before the overall lack of racing, TVG (a TV channel in the US that broadcasts racing primarily to attract bettors) would show, IIRC, only the gallop racing at Jägersro.
Now that there is so little racing on your side of the pond, TVG is broadcasting races now that before they probably would not previously.
Norway is hoping to start racing on the 23rd of April, the opening day at Klampenborg (Denmark) have been cancelled. I think we are the only racing in Europe at the moment.
Shame there wasn’t a better recording of Greyhound.
Moni Maker blew his record right out of the water! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egIK-nA8DvE
I think you are right (although I will confess I don’t try to find out where in Scandinavia the tracks are ).
Some good news last night for owners in Ontario. Ontario Racing has brokered a deal to distribute what would have been purse money to help offset the costs of training. For all three racing breeds in Ontario.
We TB owners will get $1500/month/horse for 3 y.o.s, and up. There are some conditions to be eligible but this is really appreciated. If we are still not racing by May 31, then 2 y.o.s will be added.
There have been some outfits ship back to the farm, but we are sticking it out with both our trainers. So happy…
More information on the Ontario plan:
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ontario Racing created a task force to address the financial impacts on the horse racing industry. The Ontario Racing Task Force has worked closely with OLG to structure the below interim process which is available to all three breeds – Standardbred, Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse.
Eligibility Requirements
In order to be eligible to receive funds pursuant to this interim measure, owners must complete an application which must be submitted to Ontario Racing Management Inc. (ORM). Eligibility requirements for this program include the following:
Horses must be trained and raced by an Ontario-based trainer with a valid AGCO license
Certification that the horse is resident in Ontario, or has completed a Stall Application for the 2020 race season, or is otherwise verified to be coming to Ontario for the 2020 race season
The horse’s first start following the resumption of racing in Ontario must be at an Ontario track, unless otherwise approved by Ontario Racing
Horses must be at least three years old, and either have not yet raced or have raced since January 1, 2019
Subject to meeting the above eligibility criteria, for the months of April and May, should racing continue to be suspended, racehorse owners will be eligible to receive the following payments, each of which is estimated to cover half of the monthly costs associated with boarding, feed and training fees (veterinary, blacksmith, shipping, and other fees are not included in this estimate):
Thoroughbreds - $1,500/month
Standardbreds - $1,000/month
Quarter Horses - $750/month

Pretty dang disappointing
TOC (Thoroughbred Owners of California) theorize that animal rights extremists influenced LA County HD and Alameda County HD (GGF) to halt racing based on multiple social media posts urging members to weigh in to the various county health departments. Orange County has not shut down Los Al as of today.
Los Al is also not interested in picking up racing dates from SA as they are concerned that adding additional TB racing may bring a larger focus by Orange Count HD on the track and their QH raced.
Previous letters and comments to local officials reflecting ethical objections to racing are now being reframed to focus on the potential spread of COVID-19 in the backstretch.
Denmark will start racing on Monday April 20th, starting with Ã…lborg racetrack. Klampenborg will start their season on May 2nd.
British Horseracing Authority has extended the suspension of racing indefinitely. No new date has been announced but the sport is ready to resume as soon as possible.
QH training at Delta Downs resumed morning training 4/15.

Fingers crossed. Thursday, 4/16, TSG had a video conference with LA County Supervisor Kathryn Barger and other health officials. Subsequently, TSG submitted a written proposal outlining their rational for racing.
TSG is hoping to hear early this coming week.
With the dearth of race tracks running, the Arkansas Derby at Oaklawn has attracted 99 nominations given the unknown of when any other of the “traditional” races will be run that would normally award KD point.
The Arkansas Derby could easily be split into 2 divisions as it is anticipated that realistically about 20 horses would run.

Övrevoll in Norway have been allowed to start their racing, the season starts on April 23rd. Must feel good for all the trainers there.
Tampa Bay Down’s season has been extended to the end of May
Can I complain about being so close to Del Mar and unable to go? Le sigh.
Yes, you may Heard that Del Mar might want to start their meet early because the Fair has been cancelled.
I wish LA Health Dept would let SA get up and going so maybe the floodgates would break with GGF.
I’d be happy with Del Mar on TVG
I suspect the few tracks that are racing sans spectators are cleaning up in the betting department even if so much of their on-track revenue generation is suffering along with all those whose livelihood depend on racing and not just morning exercise to fund the backstretch.
I knew it was in my county but didn’t realize it was so close! I drove past it last week going to Camp Pendleton and got giddy and sad! Ah one day I will get there!
@JohannaStk Those monte races are wild
Question. It seems like the harness races I see are all for trotters? Any pacers or do pacers race with trotters?
I also like that before the race starts and the track feed (or so I assume) is cycling through odds, etc, they show how the horses are shod (fronts, rears, none, both).
It also looks like there is more variation in track surface than we see on this side of the pond.
We only have trotters Two breeds race, standardbred and the coldblooded, they are heavier and run mainly in the north. I don’t follow harness racing that much but I know many trainers like to run them barefoot.
@Where’sMyWhite , there are no Pacers in Norway or Sweden. Only trotters.
BTW if you’re watching any races in Sweden and see Thomas Dalborg driving, give a whoop from us for him. He used to drive for us when he was here in Canada. Hell of a driver and a good farrier, not to mention not hard on the eyes either.
Update of sorts on Standardbred Canada’s plan to reopen.
