British racing can resume tomorrow!! :applause:
Lovely! May I ask her breeding?
Thank you skydy. She is a California bred by Clubhouse Ride out an Unusual Heat mare. She is running again on Friday in a starter allowance. Looks like the race came up pretty tough though.
Good luck!
More than annoyed at NYRA and CDI (I think it is).
Last year, TVG was allowed to broadcast all their races expect maybe the top tier (KD, Belmont, etc) with the tagline EveryRaceEveryDay
This year, instead of capitalizing on possible new bettors who learned to watch racing as one of the very few live sports events, CDI and NYRA are agreeing to exclusivity with FoxSports and keeping NBCSports and TVG from broadcasting their races NYRA is not allowing TVG to broadcasting even on TVG2.
Somewhere between NYRA, CDI, FoxSports, NBCSports, TVG there is a disconnecting. I know that TVG and CDI are there for the AdvancDeposit Wagering (ADW). Seems like it would be of benefit to all for as many platforms as possible to broadcast.
Sigh…
Royal Ascot, a week from today… no spectators, no top hats, no tails, no royal presence…
Sure not the Royal Ascot we’ve grown accustomed to. I always looked forward to seeing the Queen’s entrance and her choice of dress color with matching hat and gloves.
But still a Royal Ascot.
Thanks jolise. I hope she has a great race.
I for one am thankful for the America’s Day at the Races show that NYRA is producing. Just a question, though, why should NYRA sell their signal to TVG for pennies on the wagering dollar when they can produce a high quality show and promote their NYRAbets wagering platform? Plus TVG has been no saint in their dealings with NYRA over the years. Once they dismissed or tape delayed NYRA’s Saratoga signal on a Monday just to prove a pointless point.
Last summer, TVG carried all the NYRA offerings as well as TwinSpires on TVG with the exception of the premier races.
TVG does offer most but not on TVG… either TVG.COM or TVG2.
I get why should NYRA or TwinSpires “loose” $$ to TVG but they may be flat out loosing $$ from bettors who want to stick to a single ADW platform.
I know TVG has been no saint either but last summer, the EveryRaceEveryDay was nice. Back to back races from many tracks without too much of the blathering that goes on when there is time to fill between a race and the next post parade.
Just saw this on Facebook. Some great racing clips, and nice to see representation from both Standardbreds and Thoroughbreds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8zs…c2bFettaeSsQdw
Klampenborg (Denmark) have started to open up for owners and spectators but max 500 people can be onsite including staff. I hope it goes well for them.
All I gotta say is Royal Ascot spectator-less is just, well, weird? eerie?
But, with or without spectators, the racing yesterday was excellent!
Today, too.
But it is a shame to see that beautiful venue nearly empty.
I’m in a Zoom meeting so getting Royal Ascot on DVR - glad the racing is holding up with good quality.
Just seems ‘wrong’ without the day starting off with the Royal Procession and guessing the color of the Queen’s dress and the formal dress in the paddock
It’s too bad that QE wasn’t there to go to the winner’s circle when her colt won. She loves her racing.
Nice that her home bred colt won though.
I was very happy to see the Queen’s colt Tactical win in the Windsor Castle Stakes as the favorite. Nice as her First Receiver finished a close second in the Hampton Court Stakes in an exciting stretch duel.
Again great racing today. Very pretty grey, Fujaira Prince, easily won the Copper Horse Handicap, new race this year, IIRC 1 3/4m (marathon).
Along with all the tracks that are now being much more rigorous with ‘out-of-town’ jockeys, Mountaineer has cancelled the West Virginia Derby and the rest of the August 1 card.
Del Mar cancels racing July 17-19 due to COVID.
Saturday’s card included the San Diego Handicap with Maximum Security.
I think a wise decision by Del Mar.
Del Mar is closing their jockey colony to California riders when they resume racing.
Mike Smith will have to under go testing upon his return from riding at Monmouth Park this coming weekend. (He’s riding in 5 races on Saturday.)
Turf Paradise is sliding the start and shortening their meet from mid-October to the end of November…
