Tractor and Equipment Transport

We are moving across country in the next couple months, and while I am most likely selling a few pieces of equipment that go with the footing that is in my arena here, the perspective buyer is not interested in my tractor. I could sell my tractor, but am interested in taking it with me.

Anyone have any experience shipping farm equipment commercially? I will have to find an auto hauler for a couple vehicles so we can drive our two horse trailers x-country, but if they won’t ship the tractor as well, any suggestions or reputable haulers?

How big of a tractor are you speaking of ? Make & Model will help answer your question.

John Deere 2032R with a front loader, so pretty little

Okay … It weighs about 2000 pounds plus about 300 for the loader. Talk to your moving company first. They may just put it in the van. Seems like any car hauler would be able to transport it too. Only issue may be the width, Some trailers have a minimum.

This will help with specifics…

I’ve shipped a garden tractor via common carrier. Used a towing service flatbed to get it to the terminal. at the terminal strapped it to a pallet. reversed the process to get it home

Thank you hosspuller!

When we moved to MN from CO, we considered have Atlas take our cars with our stuff. They can just load them in the semi, right at your house. A tractor that size could easily be handled in the same way.

I’d look at what could I sell the current tractor for and what would it cost to buy a new one on the other end. It may be more cost effective.

Same size tractor that the homeowner had when we purchased her house in 2012. She used U-ship… Guy showed up with a semi and carhauler, and made it work. DH was pretty skeptical at first, watching him try to load it and strap it down, but the driver got it done. It arrived just fine…

That’s what I was thinking. OP how much will it cost to ship this thing?

That’s just a little bigger than my Kubota physically and I’d pack it in the van with the household stuff where you’re just adding some weight rather than doing a whole separate transaction with yet another carrier. The van lines move stuff like that all the time.

But like anything be sure that you insure your load for what it’s worth rather than the default “per pound”…

Yes, we have the Tractor blue book amount and will use that when making a decision. The only problem is I really can’t be without it for even a few days!
