One of the riding clubs I belong to had a ride at one of my fav places, Petersburg Battlefield this past weekend. It started raining just as we were going out. I threw my rain coat on and off we went. I rode with 2 friends and and another lady we just met that morning. There were about 15 people, but we always break off into groups according to how long you want to ride and what speed. It rained most of the time we were riding(about an hour 45 minutes), not too hard and we were in the woods most of the ride. We did have to assist a rider whose horse had slipped on a bridge and fallen, but other than that we had a great ride. Got back to the parking area and the rain quit. We all gathered round and had a potluck with lots of gabbing, then loaded our horses and headed home. Just as we were getting back on the interstate it started a nice steady rain.
