I have found a few trail riding clubs/groups in maryland has anyone on here rode with them/ is apart of the organization? Is it worht joining or it it beetter to just go out on your own?
It depends on what organization. I’ve ridden with TROT, the League of MD Horseman, Tri State Trail Club and a couple of others.
I do TROT and Mt. Airy Saddle Pals. I like it to find out trails I’ve never done before, or at least learn where to park.
TROT, Mt. Airy Saddle Pals and Central Maryland Saddle Club are all good and I would say they are worth joining. Even if you don’t go on the organized rides, you learn where you can go, learn the trails and meet people to ride with.
TROT ( http://www.trot-md.org/) hosts several nice rides every year. They do not have the 2013 schedule up on their website yet, but the 2012 will give you a good idea of the whens and wheres.
The League of Maryland Horsemen ( http://www.lomh.net/ ) has its own property in Marriottsville and most of its rides are centered there. The Patapsco is a large park with many trail options.
Mt Airy Saddle Pals ( https://www.facebook.com/pages/Mount-Airy-Saddle-Pals/170438446334624 ) is a smaller group that hosts rides. CotHer baylady7 can give you more info.
