Trailer brake plug sticking and hard to pull out of housing - solutions?

Pretty self explanatory ^^

I have osteoporosis! AND osteoarthritis in my hands, so they are not as strong as they used to be - IOW a strong man can pull the plug out, but there is still a bit of “resistance” - pushing it in is no problem.

Obviously we can’t use lubricants - and it’s vulcanized rubber.

Has anyone had this issue, and what did you do? TIA!

Go to Home Depot or Lowes (aisle where electrical connectors and such are located) and buy two things, a spray can of electrical contact cleaner and a small tube of dielectric grease.

Spray the contact cleaner into both the socket on the vehicle and the plug on the trailer. It will drip off onto the ground which is OK and it will dry quickly. That will remove corrosion from the electrical contacts which might be resisting plugging and unplugging. Finally apply a bit of dielectric grease, which will be both a lubricant and resist future corrosion. It is safe for use on plastic and rubber, too.

Thank you!

I found similar advice when I checked Google, but thought a horse board would be good confirmation of what to use - so much appreciated - plus yours was clearer! :+1:
