Trailer curtains while travelling

Interesting! Maybe it’s regional? When selling my old trailer with the top doors removed I was often asked if I had the curtains.

I did contact sundowner and they said I could either remove the doors or latch them back as they were meant to latch open.

I have had horses hauled with the top doors open and closed, depending upon the wishes of the trailer owner (I dont own one) and the weather. Issues with them closed were ventilation and heat. Issues with them open were stuff blowing around inside the trailer and some horses being unsettled at seeing cars and trucks zooming up behind them. My old horse did need them closed. If they were open he would twist his neck around to see behind him and started twisting his whole body to get a better view. He traveled much better with them closed!

My mare loved making ugly faces at drivers when we were stopped!
