Trailer door stop- door holder?

My stock combo trailer has a big heavy swing door rather then a ramp. If I park on any sort of hill, even a mild incline, the door will swing open with so much force it smashes the lights on my trailer. It has a rubber door stopper/bumper but obviously that isn’t enough.

I removed the rubber thing and installed a heavy Rubber dock bumper. Now that does stop the door. But on impact it bends the steel on the side fender where the lights are. Repeated impacts are probably going to eventually result in issues.

What do you use to prevent your trailer doors from swinging all the way open if caught in the wind? Is there a name for the part I need?

My steel stock combo also has one rear door, in place of double doors or a ramp. When open, the door is held in place by a metal pin on a chain that drops through a metal tube. Tubing welded to the lower corner of the door lines up with tubing on the lower corner of the hinge side of the trailer rear, allowing the pin to drop through, thereby holding the door open.

The door can’t impact the trailer lights when pinned open in this way. Perhaps you could get a similar fastener welded to your trailer.

Thank you! Can you send me a picture of that? It would be difficult to explain what I need added without it.

Please excuse the rust.
