Does anyone have this system or can recommend a system that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. I don’t trailer to much but want something cause I’m a major worrier! TIA

Also found this one, good?
I was wondering the same thing. The most frequent complaint I have heard is that the camera runs off of a battery and they life is very short. I will be hauling my horses on a few trips over 7 hours and I would love to have one that lasts. Good luck in the search and PM me if you find one and like it.
If you use a back up camera system, switch from running it off the reverse lights to the regular forward lights.
Mount the camera inside the trailer instead of at the licence plate.
Honestly though, I don’t ever use it.
Based on recommendations here I went to Amazon and bought the Unidem system. I bought the indoor camera (smaller and lighter) and the monitor. I attach the camera to the mount that is provided. DH found a great magnet and I use that to attach the camera and mount to the back of the truck (swivels to point down on the hitch). After I"m done hitching up, I take the camera inside the trailer and place it between two bungee cords in front of the horse (trailer is aluminum so magnet doesn’t work there). It works great in all light conditions including the dark. It has sound (and I learned JUST how noisy the trailer is and took steps to eliminate banging YIKES!) as well.
The monitor I have plugged into the truck with a converter so I don’t worry about that battery. Last trip camera lasted 4 hrs in 10 degree weather. Very simple to set up and gives me great peace of mind.
And it was cheaper than the systems being sold elsewhere. I have an 8 foot bed on my truck and a warmblood size trailer with a tack room in the front - and no need for an antenna.
You don’t need anything horse trailer specific. You’ll probably just pay double for someone else to select the components for you.
You can find everything you need here at reasonable prices:
We use something like: http://www.supercircuits.com/Security-Cameras/Micro-Video-Cameras/PC213XS
hardwired-another plug to hook up when the trailer is connected.
And a monitor something like this, only ours was cheaper:

There’s plenty of cctv stuff available that runs off of 12 volts.
Our trailer has cameras (wireless) but the monitor died. Would the monitor Tom listed above work with a wireless camera system? Or how would I find out?
Timely Thread
This is great! I’ve been researching trailer cameras for awhile now and cannot figure it out. I just got my cameras in my stalls at my barn and can now watch the horses and barn from my computer or iPhone. IT IS SO COOL!!
So, now need a camera in the trailer. I have a 3500 diesel with a long bed. My trailer is a 3H gooseneck with an oversized, long dressing room. I’ve been told the diesel will interfere with anything wireless and the trailer portion is too far from the monitor in the truck.
I am willing to have something hard-wired, but just don’t know which camera and monitor to purchase and where do I have it installed? A local mechanic?
Thanks.
Our truck is a diesel and before I broke the monitor (physically) it worked fine, no interference. And the distance from camera to monitor was longer than yours.
I would think any place that services RVs etc would have the capability to wire up a monitor and camera. I took my truck in for a tonneau cover and he tried to sell me a Swift Hitch. I thought the Unidem system was superior for my needs.
new and improved
Just so you know, there’s now a second generation of TrailerEyes, it’s 5.8 GHz instead of 2.4 GHz.

FWIW, I’m currently looking at getting a Uniden system.
Well there are lot of varieties of them in the market. But found these for your review
