Trailering with Range Rover

fyi most people do not have an F250 that weighs that much. They are soooo much bigger these days, mine is a 2012 and is about 1500+lbs lighter than the new ones. Now an F150 is almost as big as my F250!

Which is another thing, trucks change but people’s memories are remarkably static, just because they remember getting whipped around by their half ton truck 30 years ago does not mean that model today is the same vehicle with the same technology.

As another American now living in the UK, hauling with a Range Rover is no big deal so long as you’re within the vehicle’s weight limits and the trailer is preferably Euro-style. See it all the time here, especially for those doing riding club and local outings. Also see people hauling with diesel estates (station wagons) with their lightweight trailers. It was initially horrifying to me, as someone with a 25’ 2H gooseneck at home that I hauled with my 2500 Duramax…and who will be buying another 2500 Duramax whenever we come home. And even with that nice rig, for longer hauls with my military moves (5+ hours), I sent mine on Brook Ledge. As said above, the vast majority who do longer hauls on this side of the Atlantic have propper lorries.

Be safe, mind the numbers and drive conservatively. Enjoy your horse!
