At least some of the string in New York were scratched to day out of respect according to the talking heads on ADAR. Sometimes the show does not have to go on.

That was how I found out about his passing, but it hadn’t made public news yet, so waited to say anything.
The 2 MRH horses he had running today were scratched

Kind of refreshing to see them stay in the barn, they have nothing to prove by running them today. Gather it was not unexpected but it is a gut punch to his crew and family.

I agree. It was the respectful thing to do.

Yeah, I wondered why the two were scratched when I got the email (I have shares). Glad they were, the right thing to do.
So sorry. He was one of the good ones.

Gone way too soon, he was definitely one of the good guys. Glad his family is carrying on the legacy

Perhaps one of the best trainers in the modern-day sport. He wasn’t a household name like Baffert or Pletcher, for most, mainly due to his specialty coming with turf runners, but his notoriety did not just come from the type of horses he trained; but his character. He was a kind man; well respected by anyone who worked for him. He treated his people well and his horses like his own. When someone talks about running a top-tier organization with dignity and respect, Christophe Clement was the name you saw at the top of the page. It didn’t matter if your horse in his barn was a consistent lower level horse or a G1 winner, they would be treated the same- with great love and care and respect. He loved his horses. I will miss seeing the red and salmon pants in the Saratoga winners circle. Indeed, we shall Enjoy Life every single day

I’m so sorry - he was one of the good ones. May his legacy carry on.

This particular cancer is a real beast. A close friend of mine has the same cancer and we’re hoping Kimmtrak plus the treatment up at Jefferson Health will buy more time. It’s rare and extra-slippery.

I included the name of the hospital just in case anyone reading knows someone with this diagnosis now or in the future. Have the physician contact Jefferson immediately!
