Video is graphic.

I don’t know who this person is or anything about him.

But my knee-jerk reaction is that I would like to see somebody do the same thing to him.

Why? These abuse videos baffle me. Working with animals can be frustrating. I had to train a young donkey that attacked people by rearing, biting, and trying to knock them down. You better believe that he heard some spicy words as I tried to correct his behavior. But restraint must be shown. I don’t understand how someone can put an animal in a vulnerable position and then continue to abuse them. What the hell are they doing? Is this some kind of revenge or sick gratification? I don’t get it. You’re creating trauma and it will come back to bite you in the ass.

A quick google shows he’s a Rodeo guy. Roping and steer wrestling. I’d like to see someone do the same too.

This video has been ALL over my Facebook feed today. It’s sick. There’s another guy too - some veterinarian? Just horrible.

I also saw the video of the vet abusing the young Mustang. Horrendous! Apparently he’s gone missing and police are searching for him on Mead Lake. Kaden Lappe is a POS and needs to be locked up. He shouldn’t be allowed to touch another animal for the rest of his miserable life!

I really can’t think of any sequence of events or scenario in which this kind of treatment could be considered ā€œappropriateā€ by anyone but the bottom of the barrel kind. Even if it were an old school ā€˜Come to Jesus’ moment, this is gross overkill and lacks any sense of timing. It’s just anger, showboating dominance, or embarrassment (or some combo of) for whatever happened prior to the recording starting. You know that something had to have happened beforehand for the recorder to go ā€œoh, better get it on video this timeā€.

I don’t understand ANY kind of hitting a horse in the face when they’re down. And the only kind of hitting that should be done on a downed animal should be in emergency cases with the intention of getting them back up, not punitive. What the hell is wrong with people.

His behavior is so abusive that I worry for his wife and kids. And I wonder where he learned to react that way.

For those who have not viewed the vid–you cannot unsee it.

My vet kicked my Hackney pony to try to get him up when the pony was colicking. It worked, but it really upset me. We had a bad run of colics with that pony, and after that DH and I tried to be the ones to get him on his feet before the vet tried. We walked miles with him to try to keep him from going down, but sometimes he got the better of us.

I think in a case like that where it’s life or death, you do what you have to do. I have had a vet be rough to a horse getting it up or getting it to stay up and with those vets they probably needed therapy after, but it was the right thing to do under the circumstances.

In the videos it’s just wrong.

I don’t even see a horse striking at a human. He’s flipping out because the rope is wrapped around his neck and he’s an unhandled mustang - of course he’s striking at it.

Just outrageously poor judgement and horsemanship.
