Trainers in Gainesville, FL with school horses?

Hello,

I normally hang out over the the dressage side but I have recently started pole work with my Welsh Cob and have since raised them to cavaletti height and set them up as a course of four ‘jumps’ my horse has never been so happy, forward and willing to work as when we do this type of exercise. However my last over fence lesson was 5 years ago and the last time that was on a horse who truly knew what he was doing over fences was almost 10 years ago. I am looking to possibly start some lessons for myself. So that I can work with my guy. I have a dressage trainer already that I love but needless to say she doesn’t have access to jump courses and horses who are properly trained in the discipline.

I do not intend to event but I am looking for a trainer who is efficient and values the work between the fences. I am also not looking for fancy, safe and sane are my two priorities. I ventured over here as am aware of many of the H/J trainers in the area and I can’t really find one that anyone would ever recommend.

Any recommendations?

I would inquire with Pat Deasy. She is an eventer, and she is excellent. A very good teacher, with great communication skills.

Maria Hallet in Citra. She is a dressage trainer but works with jumpers as well which might be a good combination for you! She is also the IHSA dressage coach for UF, I believe.

Ella Rukin of Wynfield Farms, shes a friend of mine and a H/J trainer in Gainesville/Archer area.
