Trainers ***preferably with Boarding available*** in MA

Anywhere between Boston and Bourne for a newbie to eventing…considering low level eventing after years of hunter/jumper and dressage…

Valinor Farm is in Plymouth MA. they have a wonderful facility and host a USEA event.

Thank you!! Feel free to PM me if you have personal experience or contacts there!

Valinor is great. Erin is hard working, gives fantastic lessons, and the horses are well cared for. The facility itself is of course lovely. I wouldn’t hesitate to send my horse or rider there

Thanks again!

Np, I should add I’ve sent my horse to Erin & have ridden with her. If I lived in the area Valinor would be on my list

I’m just seconding Valinor. They’re wonderful!! I’ve worked with Erin and Lisa on and off for years (they’re a little far away for me to use consistently, but I have attended camps, events and schoolings). If I lived a bit closer I would definitely keep my horse there.

Be warned though - the road the farm is off of is a very loooooong, poorly-maintained dirt road.

Thanks unfortunately they do not have any boarding available at this time, understandable from what I hear about their reputation. I definitely would prefer to board with the trainer. I will try to edit title of the post to include that. Keep the suggestions coming!!!

Hmmm…there is Flatlands in Rehoboth, but it is slightly out of the way, closer to Providence. Tom & Joan are great though. Palmer River is also in Rehoboth. There are a few nice places in the Millis/Sherborn/Hopkinton area if those aren’t too far out as well.

Bennett Farm in Rochester used to do eventing, but the trainer is now in Texas, and TBH I wouldn’t have recommended them anyway.

RE: Valinor

You might inquire if Kathryn Brewster is still boarding horses at her family’s Little Forge. It’s just up Old Sandwich Road from Valinor-- an easy hack. I grew up riding there as a girl. Chiltonville has been steadily encroached upon since that time, but it’s still beautiful. I have many fond memories.

Thank you all!! Little forge is the best located…usually travel between Mansfield and Lakeville for “the rest of life”
