Does anyone have any personal experience training with him? I would appreciate some feedback. Thank you.
Not direct info on trainer, but a lady moved her horse to my barn after having paid for 6 months of full training and lessons from DP. I wasn’t impressed with the training the student or horse had. It was really bad.
I realize one student shouldn’t be used to judge a trainer, but I felt bad for the lady. She shelled out thousands a month for half a year and was no better off than if she’d paid for up/down lessons from a hack trainer at a quarter the cost.
The only other info i have is that apparently older women love him regardless of how well he trains. It seems almost cultish, or manson like following.

Thank you for the responses. Would anyone mind elaborating just a little bit please? An example?
I don’t know him personally, but in all fairness if you check the scores back another year, when the horse was showing intermediate, his scores were in the mid-60s.
He’s been in my area for several years now. Was somewhat popular when he was a new kid in town, so to speak. Had some students that would go to shows and do…OK. They all moved on pretty quickly to other barns, so that says something to me. I haven’t seen him at shows with students in several years, nor have I seen him show a horse in several years. He’s almost always a vendor at our area recognized shows, hawking some clothing/tack line and his book.
He seems to have decamped to Wellington, at least for the 2020 winter season.
For me, I would never go to him for training, but to each his own. It depends on what you want, and whether your personalities work together. Me - I’d likely kill him inside of a week.
I have seen him riding at Waterloo the last few years.
