Trak on Craigslist

http://ocala.craigslist.org/grd/3286532687.html

Hmmm I wish I could get more info on the Trak mare. She look familiar to anyone? I emailed the seller and got this response:

( I asked “Is the trakehner registered? Can you tell me her bloodlines, is she branded, height?”)

The trackehner does not have papers I bought her with out papers her previous owner was able to confirm that she is one of adullah’s offsprings he is an Olympic jumper from Canada in her younger years she was a level 5 jm aa show jumper in nj and an Olympic lesson horse and was owned by nona garson her previous owner believes there was an ins scandal involved and that’s why there are no papers. 16h

Maybe try Nona to see what she knows of the mare?

Ad says she is dark chestnut, but the only chestnut I see is the fourth one down and I wouldn’t call that “dark”? The first three refer to the bay colt?

So the only thing to go on that she’s a Trakehner is the seller’s claim that she is? Would be great if that can be verified. On a lark, I emailed Ridge Farm to see if anyone will confirm the seller’s claim. Poor girl looks like she could use a helping hand. Will post if I hear anything back.

That is awesome FatCat! Thank you

I would like to maybe upgrade her but I need way more info than I heard it through the grapevine. They never answered if she was branded

If you look at the photos, the top three are a dark chestnut … no brand that I could see though.

Not sure why the chestnut colt with one photo is worth $3K – you would think even with a teaser photo you would want a better one, and I am doubting the Arab would be much of a sporthorse with that croup but anything is possible. Arab looks like she needs some groceries.

Why do people place these ads that are so uninformative and difficult to assess? Do they really sell horses this way?

I think I see a sheath on first photo - although horses doesn’t look to be 1 yr old. Of course the yearling colt is dark bay - and this is Florida - so being out in the sun makes your coat bleach.

Chestnut looks more Arab than Trak - very light bodied. I wouldn’t pay 1K for all 3 of them, much less any one of them.

The first 3 photos are of the bay colt. The 4th photo is the trak mare with the gray being the morab.

Looks like she could use some groceries.

:frowning: She looks horrible

Gah I need to find out if she is in fl or Ga

She looks so sweet. I dont need a horse but that pic makes me want to see what is up with her.

Much better photo. Hope someone picks her up. However, all the descriptions and assertions that this is the mare the seller says it is doesn’t make it so. She does look like a trakhener, however, so it’s certainly possible. Anyone know Nona Garson that could email her and have her identify? What happened to the email to Ridge Farm?

Not to hijack this thread, but since I had never heard of the website ShannonD linked to, I decided to peruse it a bit and came across this: http://georgia.freegardenshopper.com/farm-and-garden/thoroughbred-quarter-horse-mix.html

But back to the original Trakehner mare… if she’s located in Georgia, I am always good for helping with hauling, if someone can offer her a home.

She is actually located in Naples (emailed owner today. I also asked for more pics and maybe a vid). I would need transportation help if I do persue.

Ridge Farm has not conatcted me yet I did get in contact with Charolette (from Galten farms) but she doesn’t know her.

ETA: Wow the horse above is 20h high?

Every rider’s dream. A 20H horse with a reverse gear. Wonder if her transmission was recently flushed?

I would swear I’ve looked at this mare before. It was a couple of years ago and via another ad. I can’t remember the asking price, but it was more though still quite reasonable. I was provided under saddle footage and the mare was nice. Not a flamboyant mover, but a pretty hunter and possibly eventer type. I did not pursue it further, but remember thinking she was a nice mare, particularly for the asking price. Neither here nor there I guess.

http://windsongfarm1.webs.com/andiamo.htm She is on this page and was owned by this owner before the one now.

I should be getting more pics and a video this weekend

Looks like from that last link, the Morab mare also came from that place and the yearling colt is probably the 2011 foal from the Trak mare and whatever stallion they are standing there? The sold page for that mare said she was sold in foal to their AWS stallion…

Any updates??

Oy vey.

This is their stallion (now a $25K gelding):

AWS IMPORTED FROM CANADA PERCHERON/TB BLOODLINES

I wonder if he was a PMU foal. This is the kind of horse that foxhunters love.

I’m totally having a de ja vu moment with this thread.
