From your screenname I’m guessing you’re looking for an eventer, so this one may not work, but a friend of mine trains and shows a very nice Trakehner stallion at Grand Prix – “Lord Locksley” (Unkenruf PsE* / Enrico Caruso PsE*)

and the only one to qualify for the year end regional championships. Interestingly for this mare owner, Hannah, full brother Harry Houdini and Herzmond (2nd in yesterday’s $2,500 Jumper Classic) are all out of a 15.2h mare.
Agree with Maren the Burnus AA + Ramzes AA are very interesting and have already proven successful. Here is 2006 Taz son Mateo who is out of a dam carrying Burnus AA in the 4th generation. Tae competed to Prelim (undefeated @ that level) before being sold to a student of 4* rider Julie Wolfert (riding here). http://youtu.be/oQR81YFft3w

Thanks everyone! I have sent Anissa a message about Tate.
Anyone have experience with Tzigane or Tanzeln?
I do.
I love Taz (Tzigane) babies so much that I sought out a brood mare to make my own kiddo with Mr. Taz.
I’m very demanding when it comes to competition. People who know me know I’ma sore loser. If I don’t bring it, I usually don’t play. Taz kids come to work everyday and are ready to kill it. But what I also like is that they are modest. They don’t need to show off to be the best. They just are. The quiet competitor who sneaks in and takes names. And then leaves just as quietly. Yet I love a smoochy teddy bear horse…and they are that as well. I like a horse who I can play with.
My kiddo turned out like all the Taz kids. Super duper smart and a busy body. She wants to do things with me. She’s super playful. And she moves like a million bucks.
I just love their brains. Super awesome horses and though there is one other stallion I have had my eye on I really can’t justify straying away from Taz. I know he produces exactly what I want.

I also love Tatendrang, but I’m also a huge fan of Buddenbrock, I think the US are lucky to have him available, so I would take a look at him too…
I thought a breeder told me that Buddenbrock adds bone…
This ended up being one of my favorite pictures of [Taz son] Harry Houdini.
He’s 4 coming 5 here. Had been jumping for 6-8 months–and was entered in his 1st training level event. This jumper show was my prep.
but I love it so much because Kim has a pic of Taz that matches.
I’ll have to try to find the Taz version.
Here is Harry

When I was researching breeding to Buddenbrock I did not find this to be the case. My coming yearling filly by him is very much refined, but so is her dam. Here are some links to other Buddenbrock offspring.

Hmm first of all, Buddenbrock has sired more sucessful offspring in different disciplines (also eventing) than probably all the other mentioned names here together Maybe due to his age, but I dont know… Secondly, I didn’t know that eventers dont want bone? I know there are disputes about this but as far as I know, eventers have no problems with solid bone???

Good point. In my reading and response above I read “adding bone” to mean old fashioned. Maybe my interpretation is wrong. But yes, bone is a good thing! Just not “heavy boned” like a draft but “refined bone” like a dressage horse.
I thought the OP asked about stallions who added bone.
hence the reason I mentioned Buddenbrock…
For some reason I read Manni01’s post to be mocking or disputing my comment. Could be wrong though.
As far as I know eventer’s dont mind bone. I certainly do not.
And I thought it was Buddenbrock who I was told added bone. Titulus (sp) was also in the conversation…could have been him.

I like him I think he’s cute. I’m into the super compacts with long necks.

How cool,
Did you notice that Tagaelen adds size? Wow! My mare is really tall!
She just grew again and is at 17.1hh and her dam is just 16hh (I think) and Tagaelen is 16.1 1/2hh.
Here is video of her under saddle (just green broke). She had a mouth ulcer that I didn’t know about which is why she was fussy. It is all taken care of now.
Thanks for the other videos of Taz! Those are great to show his personality. Here is my mare’s full pedigree (http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/aurelia+nsf) The concern with Tate was adding Avignon II early on both sides.
I actually know Mateo’s breeder/previous owner as well as Julie Wolfert (we grew up competing in the hunters together before we both switched to eventing). He is a very cool guy!
I have looked at Titulus in the past, but have heard that his fertility isn’t fantastic.
Thanks for all the input on babies and pics/videos! That really helps when making a decision.
Here are a few videos of my mare just for some comparison…

Anyone have experience or know of the temperaments of Songline or Halimey babies? I have done some youtubing and found some videos.
Oh wow, I know Gracie!! Saw you both compete @ Holly Hill when Kristen still had Harry. Houdini. :). Will send you PM.

Oh wow! What a small world! I loved Holly Hill. It has been so long since I have competed there, now that I am in GA. Was always one of my favorite events, such a great atmosphere.
Nice Mare !!
It’s too bad you aren’t running at Rocking Horse this weekend - Tate, Songline, and Halimay are all listed to run at this point.
Will be at Red Hills? I know Tate will be there barring any unforeseen incidents and I’m betting S and H will be there too… Best way to judge is to see in person ;).
This is a Titulus mare out of a Graditz line mare. I believe she has only been under saddle for 1 year. Already winning on the circuit with a Child/Adult rider. Unbelievable rideability and talent! The lady who bred the mare is the same one who bred my Tagaelen mare.
Hannah, I didn’t add the hyphen in the Majenfelderhof URL. Here’s the link to Taz’s first German foal crop http://www.gestuet-majenfelderhof.de/news_fohlenbrennen2011_e.html
Maren shared all the “character” videos of Taz and since you can’t see him in person (unless you happen to be in Schleswig Holstein) here’s a video demonstrating his athleticism and courage - his appearance @ the 2010 Neumunster Gala Show. Skip the first minute (filming backstage area and playing with focus) but the end includes his now famous fire jump (a photo of which was the cover of the 2011 Gala program brochure). http://youtu.be/ytfyVWvDXtY
If all goes according to plan, hopefully Gracie will be bred to Tzigane next season!
