Transport bag for saddles

I am in search of a very well padded transport back for a dressage saddle. I found kensington saddle bag online but there are no pictures of the inside (or I just do not understand the description). I would want something that really protects the cantle (right word ?) and it should also be of durable outer material.
If possible it would be perfect that it can be used as backpack. I need to transport my saddle daily with the car and than to the barn was we have no Option to store a saddle there. I need to able to carry it easily hence backpack. I have a dressage and a all purpose saddle by Prestige.
Does anyone have an idea or can hint me at something ? Personal experience ?

I honestly have thought that this is really a market I could look into to have it produced and sell it !!!

Thank you very much in advance !

I’ve been very happy with my Big D travel bags. I fly with my saddle frequently and it’s come through unscathed every time.

I have a close contact saddle…I’m going to assume Big D makes the same bag for dressage saddle. It’s quilted just like their heavy blankets so the protection for your saddle is fantastic.

Big D is a brand that is a favorite with the western world, but they do make a number of quality item for other disciplines as well.

I have the Big D dressage saddle carrier and love it. It fits my 18" dressage saddle perfectly without a lot of extra space for it to flop around inside the bag. It is fairly easy to carry with the shoulder strap. This winter I was riding someone else’s horse at another barn and it was easy to transport my saddle with this case. I plan to by a second one for my AP saddle.

Previously I had the Kensington one, and it was very bulky and difficult to get the saddle in and out of, plus the saddle would shift inside the case and it didn’t sit nicely on a saddle stand. The case itself is rather heavy, too.

I see you’re in Germany, so I’m not sure if Big D products are sold over there, but I ordered mine from the Mary’s Tack website, and they might be willing to ship to Europe. http://marystack.com/big-d-dressage-saddle-bag/

I have a collegue coming over in September from the US who could bring it over - that’s why I was asking here - have not really seen somthing in Germany. I will have a look at that Big bag. thank you ! Other ideas are still welcome

There are plenty of padded over the shoulder saddle bags, I have one made by Wintec that I like.

But my favorite bag, I call it my clinic bag, I can’t find any more here in the US. Classic Equine made it and it is huge. I put everything in it and carry it with a shoulder strap. It’s heavy but not impossible. I always get comments on it- “WHERE did you find that great bag!”

Here’s one a lot like it, the top one pictured. Big rectangle of a bag.

We carry Kensington and Centaurs, as well as others both really lovely. I can get photos of either just email us: info@theconnectedrider.com

I’m in a similar situation and have the Kensington bag and am not a fan for frequent travel. It is gigantic and cumbersome for carrying around and the saddle has a lot of room to slide around. I think it’s really better designed for show travel where you just want all your pads and bridle in one bag with your saddle and are only moving it from tack room to trailer. Does the big D bag have enough space for a deep seated long flap dressage saddle? I find a lot of covers just aren’t big enough to accommodate.

Probably not for a VERY long flap. My saddle is an 18" Black Country Vinici. I think the flap is 16", and the case would probably fit one more inch of flap. I flip the billets under to zip it completely closed.
