Trauma Void EQ3 Helmet

The Trauma Void is in the mail on it’s way back so I went to Dover to try on a Kask on my way to the barn. (Smartpak has last year’s model on sale right now!) They didn’t have any Kasks in store so I tried on some Charles Owens and found one that fit me really well and does have the cradle thing at the back of the neck. Something must have changed in the 5+ years since I last tried a CO. I wanted to try it out in my lesson today but it’s the non-ventilated one and we are having a sudden temp/humidity spike so I rode in my Sportage again.

I’m hoping that this will spark the rest of the helmet manufacturers to up their game and offer helmets in different shapes with something like MIPS technology.

I find the Kasks very round. I’d like to hear from others if they have different results.

CO usually fits pretty oval though the GR8 is more round than the AYR8, for instance. And now they offer a “round fit” for round heads. I just wish CO would offer something that’s more ventilated. Come July, I’ll faint if I have to wear my AYR8- and that’s the ventilated one! Tipperary Sportage original model is nicely oval but the hybrid is much more round and doesn’t fit me.

I bought one today though I haven’t had a chance to ride in it. It is lighter than my Troxel and very comfortable. I would call it oval but not long oval

I just bought one for my DD. She has had several concussions (bad luck), then a rollover car accident ( NOT her fault), so as soon as I heard about this helmet I planned to buy one. of course, as usual I procrastinated, then 2 weeks ago our mare tripped at the canter and fell with her and launched her like a dart. head first into the sand. luckily she slid which probably helped minimize brain concussion. That took care of the procrastination. Helmet came last week and DD likes it. It does feel a little shallow to me, but I wonder if that feeling is from the second layer of material.

It would be nice if they develop a model that goes deeper in back like the tipperary, I would buy that in a flash. Looks wise, the helmet looks VERY similar to the oneK she crashed in.
