Looking at the chewy website, considering all this COVID stuff plus the fact the nearest feed store is 30+ miles one way.
I have one hard keeper than I’ve been feeding Purina healthy edge to, 4+ lbs a day. They all get 15-20lbs good quality grass hay.
Anyways is tribute a good feed? I’ve never heard of it.
I feed Tribute and love it. Kalm Ultra is high fat/high calorie for harder keepers, Kalm n EZ is for your average horse and Essential K is a ration balancer for easier keepers (which is what I feed my mare).
I always liked their feeds. They offer a variety of products.
My A/O hunter looked super for the 5 years that he lived out 24/7 with Essential K.
We moved and our local feed store only carries Purina. He still looks good.
Tribute is probably my favorite brand, too bad it’s stupid expensive where I am now. I feed Seminole and like it a lot as well, it’s a close second.
I’ll disagree that Kalm Ultra is for hard keepers and Kalm n Ez isn’t. I fed Kalm N EZ to my hard keepers and had no problem keeping weight on them. I steer clear of Corn and Molasses for my sport horses, both irritate ulcers.
I have two mares that have been on Kalm Ultra for a few years now and I’ve always been pleased with how they have done on it. Two years ago I switched my gelding from the Kalm Utlra to Ultra GH, as he is ulcer prone. The rep from Tribute was really helpful when I contacted them about what to feed him and even gave us a sample bag to try. I still maintain a program for him to manage the ulcers, but being on the GH has dramatically reduced the need for medical intervention. All of my horses were eating Tribute feed when I bought them, so it wasn’t my idea to put them on it. But I’ve had no reason to switch.
Been using Tribute for many years - Kalm 'n Easy for the ones in harder work and Essential K for the air ferns. Very happy with the results after switching from another common brand that wasn’t doing the job well. It appears more expensive on the surface, but I found I could feed less. You get the quality you pay for.
I love Tribute. Be aware that Chewy is 10 days out for shipping due to the hording/COVID19, which caused people like me to order more so I have enough food for my cats/dogs. I used to order every other week; just ordered enough to the end of April.
I saw that! I put my order in and also ordered cat food and signed up for auto ship! I guess I’ll see how delayed it is.
My last order was on the 24th; I won’t receive it until April 1st. Good luck!
Said 7-10 days. No biggie. I have plenty of horse and cat feed at home.
My horse feed came today. I ordered it on the 24th. cat food supposed to be here tomorrow.
