Just tried to buy some Kalm and EZ at the Farm and Fleet in Rockton IL. The shelves were empty and the clerk said they got a notice from the manufacturer to pull the product the stores have and destroy it. Anyone know why or what’s going on? I haven’t heard anything.
Oh wow. Following, because I have a friend that feeds this
Good afternoon everyone!
I am the nutritionist with Tribute and wanted to post a quick update on what is going on. We had a manufacturing issue related to a conveyor belt back in September. We originally believed this issue was specific to one lot of Kalm ‘N EZ and all of that feed was pulled from our dealers back in September when it was first brought to our attention.
We were notified by a customer this week that a second lot was also impacted. This lot was made close in time to the previous issue. We have contacted all of our dealers who received this lot and had them pull the product from their shelves.
Replacement feed is on the way @TWH Girl and I apologize that they were not able to fill your order today!
If you are worried that you may have already purchased feed from this same lot you can check the lot number on the tag sewn into the bottom of the bag. It is a five digit code found on the bar code under the Tribute logo. The lot in question is 49593.
This issue is readily apparent when you open the bag and not something that you would have missed while feeding.
I want to assure everyone that we did fix the underlying problem as soon as it was brought to our attention last month. It was isolated and sporadic in nature but if you experience this or any issue with Tribute products please reach out to us directly at info@tributeequinenutrition.com or 419-294-3838 so we can get you replacement feed right away and document the issue so we can prevent it from affecting other horse owners.
I apologize for any stress or concern this has caused and would be happy to answer questions directly at 419-294-3838 ext 227.
ETA:
This link will bring you to a video that was posted on our Facebook at the time of the initial problem. It goes into more depth the nature of the problem and show examples of the problem.
Thank you so much for the update!
