Anyone tried this? I think it’s new on the market. Wholesome Blends. I asked them about the iron - was told 175 ppm. I assume is average but will try to find out more. NSC is listed as max 15%. I asked - starch Max 5%. Assume sugar WSC or ESC around 10%. It looks possible the iron could be that low looking at the label. Peas, etc.
There are some people over in the FB group Equine Wellness and Nutrition Group that have tried it and really seem to like it.
I have switched to it. I am trying it to see if my mares are less itchy on it. So far they seem to be doing ok but the seasonal change is more likely why! At first, one of them flat out refused to eat it. But she is a little piggish, so I knew she would come around and she did! I have had them on it for about 5 weeks or so and I haven’t noticed any major changes, good or bad, yet. I will probably keep them on it thru spring and into next summer to really gage how I feel about it. Overall, I am a pretty big fan of Tribute. I have been feeding their products for well over 12 years and I have zero complaints.
How would this feed help with itching?
Thanks
I am no vet, so this is all a crap shoot for me but I thought maybe the 2 are having itchy skin and manes due to a soy allergy? So I put them on this to see if there is any improvement-kind of an elimination trial. So far-I don’t have any clear answers. I don’t know if I will keep them on it or not yet!
My mare was also very itchy this summer and fall. I also wondered if it was soy related. Had an initial blood sample drawn for allergies and soy was not indicated to be an allergic to her
