Authentic wins the Sham with his first effort around 2 turns going a flat mile at SA, and his second start. Will enjoy seeing him against the top tier colts. My sentimental fave is Honor AP, love the white legs. Hope he gets healthy enough to step into some tougher competition. And Justify has a baby girl!!! She has his face.
So glad you started this, so we can share our thoughts.
And yes, the Justify filly looks like a chip off the old block.
Talk about stamping his get. I see he got a large number of stakes winning mares so there ought to be more like this one on the way. And what a nice birthday if cutting it a bit close. They must be trilled with what they got at auction just a few months ago.

Hoping Honor AP is healthy as well. I am a very big supporter of his sire and I am just in love with this horse. Authentic looked good, lots of power, but boy is he a green-bean. We didn’t even see all that he had in the stretch in the Sham; Drayden kept him a bit under wraps. He is exciting prospect; cant wait to see where he starts next. ears pricked, hand ride. He has a big future.

Im having fun watching Independence Hall and looking forward to seeing what he accomplishes next.
Independence Hall is impressive, but he’s got to settle down some pre race or the paddock scene at the Derby will send him into orbit. Authentic impressive, too. They all have some things still to learn, but this is the time of year for improvement. I’m also interested to see Dennis’ Moment come back. Given the still shot photo I saw of him absolutely on his knees at the start of the BC Juvenile, I’ll willing to forgive him that race.

Of course they have things to learn. They’ll get there with more real world experience in the next 5 months with their great handlers and trainers.
I’ll throw one out there:
Steve Asmussen has a very nice Into Mischief colt named Shoplifted who is worth following. He ran seventh in the BC Juvenile, but then came back to win a listed stakes at Remington last month going a mile, and put up a nice number doing it (106 Equibase). We debuted a very nice colt in the same race where he started out up at Saratoga in July. He beat our colt by about 5 lengths that day, and I was not upset we lost to him because he was impressive. His connections include LNJ Foxwoods, an owner who has a real knack for winning.

Plethcer has a Tapit named Fort McHenry, and it would be so Hollywood if he won the Preakness, but he’s probably too slow.

I remember seeing an interview with Todd once on TV. He said he ran into a woman in public, and she kept looking at him, and then she finally said, “I know who you are! You train horses, don’t you?” He smiled and nodded, glad to be recognized, and she went on to say, “You’re D. Wayne Baffert!” :lol:

That is even better than the blooper a commentator (I forget who) had on TVG once during a story about Zenyatta… he referred to her trainer as Shug Shirreffs… has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?
I rewound the DVR a few times to make sure I heard him correctly… :lol:

Broke well, settled. Had to tap the breaks pretty good, but came right back.
A bit green once he hit the lead, but was much the best.
I’m rather excited to see Sakatoga Stables back in the lime light.
