I’ve been a member of this board for months but this is my first posting. I’m a reader, not a poster. Anyway, this one caught my attention as my experience with this company is polar opposite of this. I’ve bought fence and flooring for Triton Barns and our experience has been great. Went out of their way to help and really knew what they were talking about. It seems to me this posting is very old and the person posting it has been banned. Not sure why this is still here.

well, you managed to drudge it up…
There are many years of old stuff around, some even rescued (and archived) from an incompatible previous server (AKA InfoPoop)

I would think if you spent any time hanging around here reading that you would know about this stuff (old threads).
It is always strange thing when new poster bumps up a three year old thread that no one would ever see if they had not bumped it up, to say something about how the original thread is so very wrong.
Would it have not made much more sense to start a thread about your great experience with this company?

You mean, “business must be slow” came to your mind?
I find old threads occasionally when googling a topic. It’s amazing how high up on the search results thread results on COTH are sometimes!

Yes. I see them too when I google.
The thing is, in a situation like this, if a person really does read here all the time but never posts they would know to check the date on something when they googled.
I almost ordered from this company, but the deal and price kept changing. Good luck to anyone buying from them, I found it difficult so I walked away. Glad I did.
I stumbled upon this thread after speaking with the owner over the telephone and wanting to do some research after my bad experience. We received their promo flyer and I figured we would purchase some new stall fronts and sides, however, I am not familiar enough with the way the product installs and what type of stall fronts and sides we would use. I spoke to two very nice staff members and was told some basic things but needed measurements to verify what stalls we would need to purchase. I called back the next day and spoke to the owner of the company and that’s where it all fell apart. This guy is arrogant, rude and very belittling. Just because he’s experienced with his own product, does not mean that customers whom are about to pay tens of thousands of dollars are! I needed clarification so I could place my order but this owner just killed his sale due to his own arrogance. After reading this post, I’m very happy that we are not spending our hard-earned money to support him or his company. I’m glad some people here had a great experience and they may be fine long-term, however, I’m unwilling to support this behavior and would hate to have to deal with this guy if there were a problem with the material or craftsmanship.
The owner curtis Gardner is very rude, I don’t know much about his product but I would shop elsewhere, there are plenty of places that make great stalls and are actually nice to deal with.
IS THIS OLD THREAD GOING TO BE RESURRECTED EVERY 3 YEARS???
Some threads seem to have cycles, like Sun spots.
G.
IMO, it should be resurrected more often to warn others to be careful if they’re thinking about dealing with this company.
The exact same thing happened to my friend this year. Ordered from Triton, they took half down and didn’t deliver, but still wanted the second half. They literally lost the shipping container, didn’t know where is was fit 3 weeks, all the while asking my friend to pay for stall fronts she didn’t have and didn’t know when she would get them. They dicked around for 5 or 6 weeks and finally after she threatened to sue them they magically delivered her 6 stall fronts. What a mess!
I had a similar impression. I’d perhaps stop short of calling him rude, but he was “forward” in terms of telling me what I should buy (without offering prices) and then offered criticisms of the horsemen of the area I’d be moving to as “cheap.” Again, that was unsolicited.
This will be a $40,000+ purchase by the time I buy all the hardware I need, so I asked if he could send me to a place where I could see his stall fronts in person, he promised to look around and hook me up with my local sales rep. Crickets.
Both the conversation and the lack of actual action took Saratoga/Triton off my list. There are many, many suppliers of this kind of hardware out there. And that stuff is a major investment in terms of money and how long they should last. If the business can’t treat you right in the beginning, I’d say that’s a sign that says “Bridge Out Ahead.” You can keep driving full speed ahead if you want, but I would not.
I was in manufacturing for many decades, before that was a bank officer… IF I was ever asked to hand over 50% upon signing a contact I would walk way, no make that run.
I might escrow the money at my bank, but I sure would not hand it over
