Triton/Saratoga Barns **Warning**

My friend is having a heck of a time with a Triton Barns or Saratoga Stalls & Barn and I thought I would pass on the word about them. The company claims to be a US-made product and also takes half down then half at delivery. They decided to deliver to Seattle then demand the rest before shipping out to Pasco (about a 4 or 5 hour drive from Seattle).

“Please anyone buying stall fronts or stall inserts. I don’t care how gorgeous they look in the pretty brochure. Do not buy from Triton Barns or Saratoga stalls and barn. They are made in China, which they don’t tell you or mislead you enough that you think they are made in the USA and the company does not honor their contract, shipping and customs are a horror. Now my stalls are in Seattle somewhere. Since I have only paid for half of the stalls and the second half upon delivery I have had the owner threaten me that I am holding up the delivery. This has been an awful experience.”

She still has not received the stall fronts and they arrived in Seattle around the 13th of October.

Hm… we got our stall fronts from Triton and never had any problems. We found them to be super friendly and helpful. The delivery was quick and easy. Plus they gave us a couple free blanket bars just for sending them pictures of our new stalls.

Wow! I wonder what gives? How long ago?

We got them almost a year and a half ago. And they sent us the blanket bars about 8 or 9 months ago.

Has she checked with BBB where the company is located?
She can start a complaint with them and if they are legit, they will straighten out and finish the order and try to make her happy.
If not, se can also open a complaint with the state attorney.

Definitely don’t pay up front any more, if that is not what you signed to do.
The ball is on their court now.

You already trusted them with half of your money, now they have to trust you with the other half, that is the way ordering is supposed to work, if that is what both parties sign for.

If you can’t resolve this, maybe time to consult an attorney, preferably a contract attorney?

Saratoga Stalls is Fantastic

We have built a new indoor arena using Saratoga Stalls. New were told upfront where things are made. The quality is superb. We had a couple of small glitches with door sizes. The mistakes were not ours and the problem was fixed immediately. N

Service was excellent
product was excellent

They went out of their ways to refer us to other vendors with advantageous pricing and quality products.

I would use them again and recommend to anyone I know.

Interesting that your first and only post here is about this company.

That is NOT true - OP (twotrudoc) has been a member since 2005 - and this is certainly not their first post.

Sounds like an anomaly or perhaps the start of a trend (good companies can go bad) - but OP is trying to warn people about an issue.

I couldn’t find anything good or bad about them on-line, only this, which is a legal trademark “request”. Sounds like they are based out of Texas (doesn’t say where stalls are being manufactured).

For myself - I don’t like Chinese products - after their dog food killed dogs, and other reports of issues - Chinese dry wall - I avoid chinese products as much as possible. I wouldn’t want the horses to “eat” the paint off and encounter lead poisoning. (Note I am NOT saying their paint has lead in it, only that I don’t trust Chinese made products to be safe).

Was not saying that about the OP. The comment was made about SheilahMaria

This is an older thread, wondering if the OP (or their friend) ever got the situation resolved?

nevermind. Didn’t see that its an old thread. Hope the problem was resolved!

Says the poster with one post, and who joined today.

I almost bought stall fronts from Triton, but we ended up welding our own. The owner swore they built them somewhere in the mid-west I think.

Our Triton barn definitely shipped from manufacturers within the US.

Nothing was coordinated as far as when pieces showed up, and directions never did arrive. That said, it was so easy to put up there weren’t many problems anyway, other than having to buy all nuts and bolts locally since they didn’t show up. Triton did discount the price of that, though, when asked to do so.

We had a freak wind storm which destroyed some neighborhoods (nothing like the tornado in OK, so I almost feel bad even saying that!) - vertical wind columns at hurricane strength. It tore apart bolts holding things together and actually bent some support beams. Overall damage was very low to what it initially looked like it would be. We couldn’t get support from Triton when we were trying to buy replacement parts so had them manufactured locally, and it left a very sour taste in my mouth as far as their customer service goes.

I find the idea of someone signing onto the board to advertise, then pulling up an old complaint thread to post on as very weird, especially with the still negative title…

I was referring to the post above mine, not the OP.

The issue was not resolved. My friend ended up driving from Pasco, WA to Seattle, WA (the port) to pick up just what she had paid for as she could not get a refund.

After hearing about this I would never buy from this company. Mistakes/misunderstandings happen but no attempt to provide any sort of service or resolution was made by them :frowning:

I will not say my friends name (although I told her I would post this here) but she is very well known and puts on as well as organizes shows out her way, sponsors at the bigger shows and her hubbie is a vet. Her experience has definitely gotten around! No one is perfect but she has a pretty darn good rep, not known for having issues like the one with Triton/Saratoga.

I would contact the police, file a report, contact the Consumer Protection Agency in the US government. This is part of what Congressmen and women are for. I would then file a challenge to the charges with your bank on all of it if it were paid for by credit card, except for that which has been picked up already. I would not let them get away with this, in Washington State, contact the State Attorney’s office, and be sure to let company know what you are going to do unless this gets resolved yesterday, and what you have already done. This is theft, and the office of consumer protection should also be contacted in the state. They could lose their license to sell here, please tell them not to roll over and accept this kind of crap. Companies change in the midst of this economic crisis, some become real pieces of garbage when they might have been decent before because they are trying to squeeze every nickel and cheap or slave labor is just one of the ways. Many have no problem picking the pocket of what should be their most important commodity, the client. Be proactive and let the know what you are doing. Also, post it on Ripoffreport. This will get their attention, trust me.

Sorry that your friend didn’t get it resolved…

So weird that I had such a great experience with Triton and then I hear stories like this!

What has confused me on this thread is whether the problem is with Triton or Saratoga, as from everything I can tell there’s not an affiliation… ?

Same ownership.
