Can anyone tell me the difference in the weight / fit / comfort between the Tropix, Enduracool and PrixTec models?
Enduracools - Tights made out of a thin synthetic fabric with lots of stretch. I love these in the summer, but a word of caution that they are NOT flattering. You will see every lump and bump!
Tropix - Tights made out of a cotton fabric with a lot of stretch. I had one pair, and prefer the enduracools because they wick sweat better.
PrixTec - Thicker fabric, more of a real breech style than the other two. I’ve never worn one so can’t share first hand experiences.
Not an expert but I own quite a few pairs.
Enduracools - My teenager loves them. Very thin and kinda like spandex. I’m not a fan, you can see everything in them, every bump and roll. They wear well, she’s rough on breeches and these have held up.
Tropix - My fav, soft, thin material but cover better. Perfect for summers in NC. They hug but aren’t squeezing all my lumps and bumps together. I prefer these over the Kerrits summer breeches by far.
PrixTec - Thick fabric, more cottony feel to me. They don’t hug my curves nearly as well as the Tropix and fit looser. I have one pair and only wear them to special lessons or if no other breeches are clean.
Love the enduracools just bought the white ones to show in!!
I’ve had both the enduracools and tropix. All I can remember about both is that they were way too thin a fabic and way too stretch. Both had very thin waistband as well. They are something like Kerrits imo.
Another fan of the enduracools, having had all of their pull-on types at one point or another. People who say they “show every bulge” are not incorrect – the fabric is stretchy with a slight sheen – but compared to some of the summer weight kerrits and iridieons, the fabric has a lot of substance – tough as nails! I have an old, old pair that is wearing slightly in the deerskin, but the fabric is going strong.
They are really my favorite breech, for the money, and I’m always looking for sales…
I don’t know we’re expecting snow on Monday. I’m super bitter about it. May never get to use my summer breeches.
I know not helpful in the least!
I find the Enduracools too hot on Midwestern summer days. Love the Tropix, but am seriously annoyed and dismayed that the only light color is white. They told me they can’t get beige fabric; I’ve been meaning to ask them to look for gray. I’m sure even a medium gray would be cooler than navy!
I’m sad they quit making the Show breeches in the Schoeller fabric with deerskin. Used to wear the Enduracools in the Keys. As time passed, I needed more support, and then preferred the Show breeches when I moved out of the Keys.
Another Enduracool fan here - the fabric is thicker than other pull-on spandex-like breeches so not as revealing. I explain the difference as Enduracool is nylony and Tropix are cottony. I find the Tropix a lot warmer than the Enduracool. I live in AZ so I like cool, comfortable breeches!
I tried the Tropix and all I can say is STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! The breeches were super cheap and when I returned them, the company sent my full credit card number, security code, and expiration date VIA EMAIL to confirm the refund. This is totally unacceptable, and I would not suggest doing any business with this company even if you like their breeches. Who knows what else they are doing with your personal data out of ignorance.
Enduracools are the coolest breech I have found. Probably not as flattering as others, but I really don’t care at 95 degrees. Plus I’m old. The company is a bit odd. I purchased another pair of Enduracools, and had to wait an excessive amount of time for it to arrive. After the first wash the knee patches bled into the fabric pretty badly. I do know how to wash these breeches. I contacted the company and ended up sending a picture. The owner responded, telling me there was no way these were Enduracools as they are not made in that color. Um, odd as that is what I ordered, and that is what I got. I did get a replacement, so am a happy customer.
