Truncal Lymphadema question

So I had a bilateral mastectomy with no reconstruction in September of 2012, and have really had not too bad of a time with it. Now, however, I have truncal lympadema on my left side/armpit and mild lymphadema in the left arm. I have been looking for compression garments to help with this but it seems limited as far as the area that needs to be compressed. Has anyone ever dealt with this and possibly have any advice?
And yes I have discussed this with my surgeon and oncologist, but am just looking for any alternatives that may work.

This company is great to work with!! http://www.lympha-press.com/lympha-press-optimal.html I am a nurse and have several patients using their products. Insurance covers most of it. Good Luck!

Thank you. I really appreciate it.

My pleasure. Hope they can work something out for you!

Find an Occupational Therapist that works with lympadema. OT can really help!

I have significant truncal lymphedema following bilateral modified lat flap reconstruction. I had trouble with it after my bilateral mastectomies, but it is worse this time. I go to a lymphedema specialist for lymphatic massage. Find someone who is specifically trained to deal with LE.
I have a compression vest from Solaris that I sleep in and wear during the day if I am working around the house, or driving for a long distance. Thankfully I have not had any lymphedema in my arms.
Good luck!

You can use an ace wraps. Just make sure they are not too tight. We put them on patients all the time and they are easy to get. HTH
