The DVDs of the documentary should be released next year (probably after the theatrical run). I donated to the documentary project, and just got a notice about it.

A movie of the Snowman story was never made, although there were two children’s books-- now both sadly out of print.
I’m the author of a brand new book about Snowman–
I’m the author of a new book, The Eighty Dollar Champion: Snowman, the Horse That Inspired a Nation.
It will be coming out in Fall, 2011 from Random House, Ballantine Books and will be available in bookstores and online wherever books are sold.
Hollywood seems interested in the story–if lots of people buy the book, then there may just be a movie too…
I keep telling people that there is a lot more to the horse world than race horses!
A book I thoroughly enjoyed!
The Snowman movie was shown at the Middleburg Film Festival a couple of months ago. I hope that DVDs of it will be available soon
The Snowman docu-film was shown yesterday here in Dallas and it was simply incredible. I would recommend anyone who can see it, does see it! It is tentatively going into a 12-market release in 2016 for a trial run.
sounds exciting, I hope when the wider release dates come close notice can be posted in Off Course so a wider range of COTH members can see the announcement.
Not sure everyone comes to H&J but I bet everyone is interested in the story

The one about Nautical, The Horse With the Flying Tail, is not available in any form as far as I know. That’s one that I would love to see again. Perhaps the film has deteriorated too much. Never heard about one about Snowman.
It is for sale at the Disney Store for $25.00.

It is due to premier somewhere soon … I think it is an independent film … I have to check my e-mail, but it is supposed to be in a theatre or theaters soon … maybe avant guard theaters, but it is on it’s way from what I have heard via e-mail.
