I thought I saved at least one article referring to problems with the torque associated with excessive grab with this footing, but I didn’t. Does anyone have something for reference?
I’m curious too because just from experience, it is way too grabby for hunters (and possibly other disciplines). I just showed at a high profile facility with GGT and we had some horses getting sore on it for various reasons. Just looking at the back side of fences, there was no give in the footing as they land. But rather they were punching straight down and through to the base, making a big deep hole. Curious about studies on it.
I’m following w great interest.
I’ve ridden on GGT footing at a few private indoors. Grooming, moisture content and amount of GGT added play a big factor in it’s ride-ability. It can get slippery when too wet and very hard with not enough moisture. You might find these 2 articles helpful on footing. I could not find the GGT study you are looking for, but I do remember reading it a few years ago.
